FAQ's

What should I do before my facial?
Facials at Skin Co. are designed to be relaxing and address any concerns you may have with you skin. Please write down or take a photo of any products or medications you are currently using. Arrive a few minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow for time to undress and go over any changes since your last appointment. Plan to arrive with as little makeup as possible.

Can other services be booked at the same time as my facial?
Yes. We can couple most facials with waxing head to toe or brow and lash services.

What facial is right for me?
Any of the facials will be fully customized to fit your needs and desires. However, if this is your first time at Skin Co., a classic or indulgence facial would be an excellent choice.

I’ve never had a peel, they seem scary.
Peels are a wonderful tool to improve more serious concerns such as hyperpigmentation, texture, fine lines and acne. We offer varying strengths and types of peels and the appropriate peel will be selected to best suit your desire. Prep is required to achieve a beautiful, healthy result.

One facial will make my skin perfect right?
I totally wish I could wave a magic wand and grant you glowing, healthy skin after just one facial. Unfortunately, healthy skin happens overtime. Dedication to home care and regular in studio treatments will provide beautifully healthy skin.

Do I need to use products you recommend?
If it isn’t broke don’t fit it. However, I have spent years deep diving into ingredients and skin conditions and have selected product lines that I believe in and know you’ll love, and work to achieve your goals.

I’ve heard waxing hurts.
Removing hairs from the follicle does hurt. However, after years of experience and developing my technique, I will do my best to make the service as comfortable as possible. We utilize a low temperature, plastic free wax that makes the service quick and less traumatic to the skin.

How often should I get waxed?
This will depend on the area of the body and many other factors but we will come up with a waxing schedule that will best suit your lifestyle to leave you feeling silky smooth.

How should I prep for a wax?
Please arrive to your appointment clean and as relaxed as possible. Discontinue use of products containing AHAs, BHA and retinol a few days to a week prior depending on the product (These make your skin more sensitive and could cause adverse reactions). Take care of your skin! Moisturize regularly and drink lots of water.

How to avoid post wax breakouts?
After leaving, try and avoid touching the area as bacteria can enter the open follicle and cause small white head pimples.
Refrain from working out, using a sauna or hot tub and hot showers. Keep the waxed area clean and use an unscented moisturizer.
Makeup after facial waxing is personal preference but can often contribute to breakouts.

What is a lash lift?
A lash lift is essentially a perm for your eyelashes. We will use solutions to curl your lashes to make them appear longer and fuller.

Do lash lifts look natural?
Yes, we are enhancing your natural beauty!
This service is for someone that desires a little umph but is not interested in receiving eyelash extensions.

How do I care for my lash lift?
Avoid water or mascara for the first 24 hours after the treatment. Don't use lash serums, eyelash extensions, or eye creams for the first 24 hours after the treatment. Only use oil-free products on your face following the treatment. Don't sleep on your new lash lift — sleep on your back for the first night to avoid bending lashes out of shape.

What's a brow lamination?
Brow laminations use the same solutions as lash lifts to achieve a desired shape for your brow hairs. It will leave your eye brows looking fuller and easier to style at home.
